Rowing Dock is the best place to learn to row in Austin. Lessons start with the basics and gradually become more advanced to prepare you for rowing solo, in team boats and even competitively in regattas. To help you feel comfortable in the rowing boats, coaches are always out on the water with you during lessons. Although everyone is different, we get most folks rowing within four lessons. Once you complete our Beginner Rowing Course we welcome you to become a member! Once a member, you can row as often as you like, whenever we’re open.
Private Lessons $250 and Semi-Private Lessons $200 (per rower)
Already know you want to make rowing your sport? You can pay for your 1-year membership plus lessons via monthly bank debit. At the end of your first year, your monthly draft drops to $36 for membership only. This is also a great option for rowers who have just finished their initial set of beginning rowing lessons and want to continue to be coached throughout the year.

Free Introduction to Rowing Class Many Austinites enjoy an active lifestyle, spending much of their free time on the Hike and Bike Trail and the shores of Lady Bird Lake. Perhaps you are one of the many passers-by who have watched the rowers glide effortlessly through the water? Every month we offer our free “Splash of Rowing” class to give the curious a chance to try it out. Call 512.689.5774 or email nadia@rowingdock.com to find out when the next free lesson is.
Free Exercise Classes on the Rowing Machines Every Wednesday Morning from 6:30- 7:30 a.m. Working out on the rowing machines provides a total-body exercise similar to spinning. Our coaches will teach you the fundamentals of rowing, and then lead you through an aerobic workout. Our Concept II® rowing machines lined up on the dock allow you to enjoy a great view of Town Lake while you burn calories and build muscle. These workouts are guaranteed to get both athletes and couch potatoes closer to their target body type. Classes are always free and open to the public. Wear comfortable athletic clothing, including socks and closed toe shoes. We recommend you bring water. We sell water for $1 or Gatorade for $2. |
