Boat Rentals
From our friendly staff to our wide selection of top-notch kayaks and paddle boats, Rowing Dock is the best spot to enjoy Town Lake. Our rental boats are easy to use even for an absolute beginner. All ages welcome. All of the boats are virtually untipable, simple to maneuver, and lots of fun. Open all year.  No reservations necessary. Easy parking in our huge gravel lot.  Bring your water or sports drink and we will supply everything else; paddles and lifejackets included.

To rent a boat, just come to Rowing Dock during open hours and we’ll get you on the water.  Kayak punch cards can be purchased at the Dock or by calling Kurt at 459.0999 or emailing kurt@rowingdock.com.  Punch cards are valid for one year from the date of purchase and must be presented to the dock attendant at time of rental.  Waiver forms must be filled out for all rentals and punch card holders.

Season Pass & Memberships
Are you ready to make kayaking a part of your routine?  Get unlimited use of our kayaks and paddle boats with a 3-month season pass or a year membership.  During open hours, season pass holders and members can use a single kayak or bring friends and family to take out the double or triple kayaks and paddle boats.  The pass and memberships are good for one boat, one hour at a time.  All prices include tax and we do not charge interest on debit memberships.

To sign up for a three-month season pass or one year membership:  Download the Kayaking Enrollment Form, and either mail the form and your check to P.O. Box 685162, Austin, TX  78768 or bring your form and a check to Rowing Dock to activate your pass or membership.

To sign up for a one year debit membership or a month-to-month debit membership:  Download both the Kayaking Enrollment Form and Bank Debit Agreement and attach a voided check.  Either mail or bring forms and voided check to Rowing Dock to activate your membership.

Kayaking Instruction
Learn how to get the most of your paddle on Town Lake, prepare for your next adventure race, or get ready for a paddling vacation.  Our kayaking coach will teach you basic paddling skills to improve your efficiency.  Packages cover basic strokes and maneuvering, paddle braces and Town Lake treasures and hazards.

Intro to Kayaking Course $75

Private Lessons $125 and
semi-private lessons $100
(per paddler)

• Package of three 1-hour lessons
• scheduled anytime sunrise to sunset, any day of the week
• Private lessons are for one on one coaching
• Semi-private lessons are for 2 or 3 friends or family who sign up together
• Two vouchers to use the kayaks on your own, during open hours
